When Rob began to earn real money for the first time as an Army officer, he knew he needed to begin saving and investing, so he began to read voraciously about investing. Eventually, word got around the battalion that he knew a lot about investing, and by the end of his tour, even soldiers who he didn't know were approaching him to ask him for help with investing their money. Rob discovered that he really enjoyed educating others about investing and helping them to avoid getting ripped off, and decided to do so professionally.
Over the coming years, Rob spent a great deal of time, effort and money obtaining a master's degree in Personal Financial Planning and four related professional designations to ensure that he could provide the very best advice to his clients. There are now over 100 designations that a financial advisor can earn, though Rob chose to earn the four that he thought were among the most respected in the industry and would be the most beneficial to his clients.
After spending over a year at Price Waterhouse writing retirement and investment plans for the partners of a major law firm, Rob realized that being an employee was not for him, so he decided to become a self-employed financial planner in 1996.
Rob has lived in metro Atlanta since 1994 and has lived with his family in Big Canoe (between Jasper and Dawsonville) since 2006. When he's not working, he enjoys spending time with his son, reading, computers, exercising, listening to music, and photography.
