What is "Fee Only Financial Planning," and why is it important?

For more than 15 years, Annette Simon has been helping successful individuals and their families better understand and manage their financial lives.

Annette is a leader in the growing fee-only wealth management field. Named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s financial experts at the “Top of their Game” in 2002 and again in 2009, Annette is a prominent member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). She is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and has held leadership roles at the local, regional and national levels within the organization, serving for three years on the national board of directors. Annette also served on the board of trustees for the NAPFA Consumer Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and helping consumers with their financial lives for five years.

Together with her Garnet Group colleague, Veena Kutler, Annette wrote a monthly practice management column for Morningstar Advisor, a widely read resource for financial advisors. Journalists from a variety of publications including:Business Week, Investors Business Daily, Fox Online, Financial Planning, Dow Jones Investment Advisor, USA Today, The Washington Post, the Baltimore Sun and Consumer Reports have consulted her in preparing articles on financial planning issues. Annette has been heard on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition and Marketplace shows and has appeared on WUSA-9 TV’s News. She speaks to associations and civic organizations on personal financial planning and related issues.
