Bridget Handke is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor.
NAPFA is the country's leading association of Fee Only Financial Planners.
What is "Fee Only Financial Planning," and why is it important?
Bridget Handke’s ability to connect with clients goes hand-in-hand with the care she invests in them. She has a clear understanding of their goals so, when faced with opportunities or risks, clients maintain a financial position that meets their needs. She also has the ability to break down complex situations and sort out the details to put together a plan that covers clients now and accommodates life’s unexpected changes.
While Bridget works with every type of client served by Birchwood, she has a special place in her heart for widows. After a close friend of hers was widowed, she saw firsthand how becoming a widow can be one of the most difficult financial and life transitions a woman can face. Bridget has found that many widows appreciate clear guidance and action plans as they navigate their future so she put together a timeline and guidebook. She walks with them through the necessary steps at the appropriate times to help them make good financial decisions for both the short term and long term.
Bridget volunteers with BestPrep, a statewide nonprofit organization that prepares Minnesota students in grades 4-12 with business, career and financial literacy skills. She also volunteers with the Minnesota chapter of the Financial Planning Association to continually educate and improve the quality of financial planners in the area. Bridget has presented workshops on the topics of Social Security, women in financial transition and finance 101 to various community groups.
Bridget and her husband, Dan, have been married for over 25 years. They have a daughter at the University of Minnesota and one in high school. When she’s not spending free time with her family, Bridget can be found at the gym. She is a self-proclaimed gym rat, participating in high-intensity classes such as kickboxing and mixed martial arts.
