Fee-Only & Fiduciary

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is the country's leading association of fee-only and fiduciary financial planners.

Celeste Mirassou is a San Rafael, CA Fee-Only Financial Planner serving San Rafael and all surrounding areas.  Financial Planning Focus specializes in providing objective financial planning to help clients build, manage, grow, and protect their assets through life's transitions.  Celeste Mirassou is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional.

I’m Celeste Mirassou, CFP®, RIA, an independent financial planner. I offer my financial planning and budgeting services on a project or hourly basis — only. I am compensated only by you, so my focus is on your specific needs and budgetary requirements.  My loyalty is only to you. I receive no commissions for products.

I am also a Registered Investment Advisor.  I provide objective and affordable solutions for investors looking for cost-effective help with investing.  I focus on your needs, with no management fees based on “minimum” investable assets.

Everyone has different needs.  I have found that’s definitely the case when it comes to finances. Some of us wonder how we should invest our money.  Others worry about how to save enough money to invest.  Some of us are concerned with buying our first home.  Others wonder about selling their home when they retire.  Still others are wondering if they can ever can retire!

No matter what your financial questions may be, I believe the best way to get reliable, practical and objective answers is to work with a financial planner.

The bottom line – no matter what the issue – is that I want to work with you to find a solution.  As a problem-solver, it is my business, and my passion, to make a difference and touch lives by giving my clients the tools they need to manage their money with ease.

Sound good?  All it takes to get started is a phone call, or an email, or a click on the link above. I look forward to talking to you about your financial goals, issues, and problems.   Working together, I know we can get you to where you want to be.

What Makes Me Different

“Do I have a license or a certification that qualifies me to offer financial planning services?”

Yes, a Certified Financial Planner® must pass an extensive exam and meet industry experience requirements.  And she must continue studies in the field to maintain that license.

Are financial planners regulated?

I am a Registered Investment Advisor with the State of California.  It means that I need to comply with standards of performance as well as disclosure about how I operate my business.  This includes making one document that I file with the state, my ADV, available to you upon request.

Am I a Fee Only Financial Planner? Yes.

Will I put my client’s interest above my own interests? Yes.

I conform to the guidelines of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) the only financial planners’ professional association that requires a review of a financial plan by our peers before admittance and the acceptance of a fiduciary oath.

How do I give back to the field of financial planning?

I was an adjunct faculty member at Golden Gate University in the Masters of Science Financial Planning program for insurance and estate planning, and I taught insurance planning at University of California Extension.

I also served as a board member of the San Francisco chapter of the FPA (Financial Planning Association) chairing the Sponsorship Committee.

Where did I acquire the necessary experience?

  • Ten years of financial planning experience including work as a paraplanner (think “As a paralegal is to a lawyer…) for other financial planners
  • Ten years of financial services sales experience in direct sales and as a sale consultant

What is my educational background?

I have a Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Santa Barbara in Business Economics with an Accounting Emphasis.

What do I do for fun?

If I am not on the water I like to hike the trails on Mt. Tamalpais and entertain friends in my home.  I am grateful for having moved to Marin County in 1997.  I have found my home, my community and my spiritual practice here.  And as a financial planner, I have found my way to make a difference in people’s lives.

Why am I so enthusiastic about racing sailboats on the Bay?

Most weekends you can find me out on the Bay racing sailboats.  It’s a great sport that allows me to work closely within a team as we push the boat, and sometimes the team, to its limits.  It’s a great community of people who share a passion and who know how to have fun together.
