What is "Fee Only Financial Planning," and why is it important?

Diane L. Esser is the founder of Direction Financial Management, LLC.  She founded the firm because she enjoys working closely with clients, especially women, to educate them on all aspects of their financial lives.   Diane’s approach is to add value to and enrich her clients’ lives without the pressure of selling any products.  As a member of the Garrett Planning Network, a nationwide network of professional, Fee-Only financial advisors, Diane is dedicated to providing competent, objective financial advice to everyone because she believes professional financial advice should be accessible to all.

Ms. Esser is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®).  She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from UW-Milwaukee and she earned a Masters of Business Administration from University of Phoenix in Waukesha, WI.  Since 2000 she’s been assisting clients as a tax advisor in the public accounting industry, as a junior financial planner with a nationally recognized Fee-Only firm, and as a paralegal in the estate planning department of a large Milwaukee law firm.

Diane is active in the community as a member of the WICPA, AICPA, NAPFA, FPA, and the FPA of Southern Wisconsin. She is a former member of the WICPA Annual Tax Conference task force, former Treasurer of the FPA of Southern Wisconsin, and former steering committee member of the Trusts and Estates Specialty Section.
