Jeffrey E. Daniher began his career as a financial advisor in 1986 upon graduation from Grove City College, Grove City, PA with a BA in Economics.  His first dozen years of work experience included two stints with the trust departments of National City Bank in Cleveland, Ohio and Central Trust in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Jeff completed the American Bankers Associations National Graduate Trust School Program, and also obtained his Certified Trust and Financial Advisor Designation.  Not content with the ability to service clients the way that he thought they should be served, Jeff left banking and cofounded Ritter Daniher Financial Advisory in July of 1999 along with John Ritter.

Jeffrey has held leadership positions within the Cincinnati Financial Planning Association, the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Estate Planning Councils and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.  In addition to his CTFA, Jeff is proud of his Certified Financial Planner designation, his Chartered Life Underwriter credential and the Accredited Estate Planner mark.  Jeff has presented at the national conventions of TD Ameritrade and NAPFA, and was very active in the educational arm of NAPFA University as dean of the Estate Planning School.

Jeff and John lead a ten person firm focused on the needs of those who want a Wealth Manager partner.  His clients include female heads of households, retirees and pre-retirees.  He loves working with intergenerational wealth transfer issues, and strives to work alongside a client’s other financial professionals.  Jeff takes an educational approach to working with his clients, recognizing that not everyone is born with the money gene.  Managing one’s wealth does not need to be complicated, but it does take discipline.  And, since life is about so much more than money, one’s finances should not drive ones choices but instead should serve as a tool to help accomplish what is really important in life.

Jeffrey is a foodie and avid bicyclist.  He and his college sweetheart and wife Nanci have three college age children that he is extremely proud of, and loves to spend time with the family.  An additional passion is assisting clients in understanding what to do with their stuff and collections, and helping them pass it along to their heirs or dispose of it in ways that they maximize its value.

After careers in other aspects of the delivery of financial advice, John Ritter and Jeff Daniher met in 1998. They quickly discovered that their ideals of how a business should be run and how clients should be served were nearly identical. Within months they decided that they wanted to “hang a shingle” and start their own firm – with the goal of being known as one of the finest financial advisory firms both locally and nationally. On July 23, 1999, Ritter Daniher Financial Advisory, LLC was launched.

From the beginning of their firm, they focused on offering comprehensive financial advice and investment management services to individuals that were looking for a professional partner. They also stressed that the providers of financial advice could never be seen as true professionals unless they practiced with full disclosure of compensation, and full disclosure of conflicts of interest. This was, and still is, one of the best ways for the consumer to determine if they are working with a financial advisor or a financial salesperson.

John and Jeff have been referenced often as leaders in promoting a Fiduciary standard in the industry. They believe that the consumer should demand that all advisors adhere to a fiduciary standard, meaning that they legally are obligated to place their client’s interests ahead of their own at all times. This industry leadership has resulted in numerous speaking engagements with the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and TD Ameritrade Institutional, among others, as well as the opportunity to serve as co-chairs of the 2008 NAPFA National Conference. Educating others within the industry on how they can better serve their clients, and better enhance the respect of the profession at large, is part of the mission of RDFA.
RDFA has been recognized as one of the top firms in the country by various industry publications. Wealth Manager Magazine included the firm in their "Top Dogs" listing of the top financial advisory firms nationwide in 2003 and 2005 through 2011, at which point the annual listing was discontinued. Financial Advisor Magazine has listed RDFA in their annual survey of top firms in the country in each year the survey has been prepared: 2006 through 2012.
 
RDFA expanded further through the acquisition of Clarus Financial, LLC in 2010.  Not only did this acquisition and merger bring additional clients for the firm to serve, but it also brought two additional team members in: Greg Busch and Lori Smith.  This raised the total amount of employees in the firm to seven, with four Certified Financial Planner professionals.  In October of 2012, the firm of Yerkes Financial Advisors merged their practice into RDFA.  The total number of advisors went up to five with Matt Yerkes becoming the first CPA/PFS on staff, and the total amount of employees increased to ten.

In its 13 years, RDFA has gone from an idea on a business plan, to a successful, nationally recognized firm serving more than 275 clients, and managing over $260,000,000. How have they done this? It has happened through a passionate belief in the benefits of a Fee-Only compensation method, and upholding a Fiduciary standard in all dealings with a client.
