Fee-Only & Fiduciary

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is the country's leading association of fee-only and fiduciary financial planners.

Jodi Vleck is a San Diego, CA Fee-Only Financial Planner serving San Diego and all surrounding areas. Beta Wealth Group specializes in providing objective financial planning to help clients build, manage, grow, and protect their assets through life's transitions. Jodi Vleck is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional.

Jodi’s approach to wealth planning and management is consultative, emphasizing objective, educated financial decision-making. “All too frequently,” Jodi says, “important financial matters are determined based on impulse and emotion instead of facts and analysis.”

Before establishing Beta Wealth Group, Jodi served as a financial consultant with the investment services division of Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union and as a qualified plans specialist with Western Capital. Prior to her financial services career, Jodi taught government and economics. Her experience as both a financial professional and an educator helps her deliver clear, insightful advice and recommendations to her clients.

Jodi’s investment philosophy is based on modern portfolio theory, a concept that won Harry Markowitz the Nobel Prize in economics. “I believe in in-depth analysis, risk management and appropriate asset allocation,” she explains.

“Although many of my clients are familiar with key principles – such as standard deviation and covariance – essential to financial economics, many others would like to gain a general understanding of these concepts and how they apply to their portfolios. My teaching experience and consultative approach enable me to provide them with that context,” says Jodi.

Named one of the best wealth managers by readers of San Diego Magazine* for eight consecutive years, in 2012 Jodi chose to become a registered investment advisor. It enables her to base her advice solely on the merits of individual investments and the specific situations of her clients.

Jodi holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both political science and communications from Western Michigan University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from Eastern Michigan University.

Why Us?

While we certainly can’t predict what the future will bring – we can predict with certainty how well we prepare for it and how we respond to challenges and opportunities along the way. And that’s precisely what we help our clients do: apply meticulous planning and rational, strategic decision-making to the pursuit of their lifelong financial goals.

As advisors, we believe there is an intricate, elegant science to the management and preservation of significant wealth. So we adhere faithfully to proven principles and approach our work with an academic attention to detail.

Our Philosophy

The work we do is technical and complex, requiring a high degree of skill and a considerable amount of knowledge. But it is also a human business, asking that we truly understand the people behind the numbers. The families and individuals we serve are an important part not only of our livelihoods, but of our lives. So, we take great care of them, treating their goals as our own and providing investment guidance and wealth management they can trust.

Together, we offer more than two decades of financial education and experience – and it’s this expertise that allows us to be such an effective conduit for our clients. Applying both our knowledge of the investment landscape and our understanding of each client’s unique goals and circumstances, we distill a universe of choices down to the most suitable opportunities. And then we pursue these opportunities with intelligence, energy and a healthy amount of caution.
