Michael J. Maye, President

Michael J. Maye is the founder and President of MJM Financial Advisors, LLC, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm.  Prior to successfully starting his own firm, Mr. Maye held a variety of positions with some of the world's premier financial services organizations such as: JP Morgan Asset Management, Alliance Capital Management L.P., and Dean Witter Discover & Company.  His responsibilities included: strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, mergers & acquisition analysis, joint venture development, and special projects.  Mr. Maye started his career in KPMG’s New York City office, where he worked as an auditor for a variety of clients across various industries.

Mr. Maye is a graduate of St. John’s University where he obtained a BS degree in Accounting (1987), and he pursued his graduate studies at Pace University where he earned an MBA degree in Finance: Investment & Portfolio Management (1995).  Mr. Maye is a CFP® certificant and also has been awarded the CPA/PFS credential.  He is currently a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New Jersey State Society of CPAs (NJSCPA), and the Estate Planning Council of Northern NJ (EPCNNJ). 

Mr. Maye currently resides with his wife in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with flame logo) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.
