What is "Fee Only Financial Planning," and why is it important?

Michelle Fait is the owner and founder of Satori Financial LLC.

Satori Financial is an independent registered investment advisory firm offering objective advice for investment and personal financial decision-making.  The Firm's goal is to help clients develop a personal financial strategy that simplifies their financial lives, reflects their personal ambitions, and adapts to a changing environment.

Ms. Fait has more than 20 years of finance and consulting experience, including work as an investment banker in New York and Seattle for a major broker-dealer.  Immediately prior to founding Satori, she served as Treasury Manager for Starbucks Coffee Company, where she was responsible for cash and investment management.

Ms. Fait is a Certified Financial Planning practitioner with expertise in investments and tax. She holds an MBA in Finance from Yale Univesrity and a bachelor's degree in Economics from U.C. Berkeley.  She is also an Enrolled Agent (EA), allowing her to represent clients before the IRS.

Ms. Fait has been selected as a Five Star Wealth Manager by Seattle Magazine for four consecutive years.  This accolade places her in the top 7% of wealth managers in the Seattle area.  Ms. Fait is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, the Washington Planned Giving Council, and NAPFA, serving on the West Region Board since 2009.

In addition to her professional associations, she is active philanthropically.  In 2010 she was asked to serve a three-year term on the University of Washington's Estate and Gift Planning Council.  She is active in advancing the interests of other Yale alumnae through her work on the planning commitee of YaleWomen.  She also fosters her interest in literacy through her support of the Seattle Public Library and in animal-assisted therapy through The Delta Society.

When not in the office, she can be found on the tennis court, at a film opening, or going for a long run.
