Walt Mozdzer is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Senior Fee-Only Planner with Syverson Strege and Company. His day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and updating financial and investment plans, meeting with clients, and managing all facets of his clients' financial well-being. Having acquired broad financial services experience in tax, retirement plans and investment theory, Walt joined the firm in 1999 and is a current shareholder.
He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a fee-only association of financial planners who have each demonstrated competence using a rigorous peer-review process. Walt is also a member and past board member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) local chapter and belongs to the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AIP). He recently completed and received the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation. He has participated in numerous community outreach efforts and has been quoted in the The New York Times, AARP Magazine, Des Moines Register, Des Moines Business Record, Money Magazine, SmartMoney, Wall Street Journal, DTN/The Progressive Farmer Magazine, FoxBusiness.com, and Consumer Reports Money Adviser.
Walt is a member of the firm's Operations Team and Strategic Planning team. He originally hails from Boca Raton, Florida, is a former Navy officer and a graduate of Duke University. He lives now in Altoona with his wife Janna. In his off-time, Walt enjoys staying fit, gourmet cooking, and landscaping projects.
