Alan Rothstein is a New York, NY fee-only financial planner. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Alan Rothstein is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

Most recently, he was honored by the AICPA as recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the Personal Financial Planning Division. Alan is passionate about helping individuals, families, and businesses meet their financial goals. With over 35 years of experience as a CPA and financial advisor, Alan knows the in’s-and-out’s of successful tax planning and long-term investing. Alan holds BS and MS degrees in accounting and has earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). When not working ...

In Alan's spare time he enjoys traveling and spending time in his favorite city, New York. His love of the New York Yankees explains why we have stadium seats in our office, but we keep things even with a few from the Red Sox also.

Alan is committed to public service. He is a current Board Member of Journey Home, whose mission is to end chronic homelessness in the Greater Hartford area. Alan is also an active member of the Probus Club of Greater Hartford, which helps mentally and physically challenged adults.. Alan is passionate about eliminating homelessness in the Hartford area, and has dedicated over ten years to serving on the board of Journey Home.

Inside or out of Asset Strategies, Alan's favorite title is "papa." Alan raised two daughters, Sharyn and Marisa with his wife Marilyn. Sharyn currently writes for a TV show and continues to write for theatre productions. Marisa graduated from law school, and pursued a career in personal financial planning. Marilyn recently debuted her new novel Lift and Separate. Alan is the proud grandfather to three grandchildren and enjoys getting a chance to spoil them as much as possible.
