When my parents divorced, I gained some first-hand insight into the importance of having a steady hand to guide you through a period of financial transition. Seeing my mother and father go through this experience, sparked my passion for helping others navigate life’s uncertainties, while also helping build confidence around their ability to achieve their financial goals. - Davon Barrett, CFP®, CDFA®

Fee-Only Financial Planner located in New York, NY and serving clients in the tri-state area and across the country. Specializing in working with women going through a life-change such as divorce, widowhood, or sudden wealth.

Davon Barrett is a New York, NY fee-only financial planner. Francis Financial, Inc. provides comprehensive  financial planning, wealth management, and divorce planning to help clients navigating a life transition organize, grow and protect their assets. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Davon Barrett is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

As a Lead Advisor, Davon Barrett helps clients with their comprehensive financial planning questions. Specifically, Davon implements solutions that combine investment, insurance, tax, retirement and estate planning strategies. After starting his career at a large global company, he decided to make the move to our firm over 5 years ago, where his presence is felt and his impact is more significant. Davon is passionate about helping our clients improve their lives through our work, and he thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to be part of Francis Financial’s growth.

Professionally: Davon graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. He completed his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation from New York University’s School for Continuing and Professional Studies and also holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designation.

During his time at New York University, he further enriched his studies through a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain where he immersed himself in the Spanish culture and economy. During his junior and senior year, Davon gained valuable experience through an internship at the hedge fund, Millennium Management, in their Investor Relations and Marketing department. After graduation, Davon entered the workforce and spent two years as an auditor in the Independence Group at Ernst and Young. His positive attitude, reliability and warm disposition make him a huge asset to our team.

Personally: Outside of the office, Davon enjoys entertaining friends and family, playing basketball and exploring his passion for music production. As a child, he developed an interest in meteorology from watching the weather channel and dreamed of being a weatherman. Today, he still enjoys following the weather, specifically in his favorite places to travel, which include the Caribbean and Costa del Sol, Spain. Davon’s mind is sharp, developed through years of Tae Kwon Do where he earned his black belt. Although he is a New Yorker, Davon spent his early childhood in the Poconos, which explains his love of both Philadelphia and New York sports teams.
