Woodstone Financial, LLC
Fee Only Financial Planner Located in Asheville, NC and Serving Clients Nationwide
Joel Kelley knows firsthand what it takes to be an effective financial planner: patience, discipline, confidence, the ability to listen, and an aptitude for teaching.
“When clients begin working with us, we usually start with investments because it’s important and often involves a change that needs immediate attention. We spend considerable time conveying our knowledge about and confidence in capital markets. Ultimately, that enables our clients to remain disciplined and stay the course when markets decline. Sooner rather than later, our relationship becomes more focused on the goals and values of our clients and less on investments. We want to understand what is important to them and where they want to be in the years and decades to come. To accomplish that, we work with their other trusted advisors such as their CPA, Estate Attorney and Insurance Professional to address advanced planning issues. Financial planning is multi-faceted and needs to address tax efficiency, asset transfer, risk management and charitable giving as well as investments. That’s why we developed our client-centered approach.”
In 2003, he established Woodstone Financial, LLC as a NC Registered Investment Advisory Firm. In 2006 Kelley was authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ marks in accordance with CFP Board certification and renewal requirements. That same year he became a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The University of Georgia. When not in the office, Joel enjoys mountain biking. He and his wife, Leann, live in south Asheville.
