Joe Morgan is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional.
I am passionate about creating customized financial advice to individuals and families who seek clarity in their financial lives. My clients have a wide range of wealth, income, and investable assets and I am privileged to act as advisor, educator, guide and protector of their wealth.
Family financial challenges have always been an afterthought for Wall Street as evidenced by the lack of appropriate services and an unwillingness to engage on a personal level. I want to end the destructive risks taken on as a result of false and misleading statements that come out of the financial world by providing a balance between your financial aspirations, resources, and accepted risks.
To get this done, I started JWM Wealth Management after earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Quickly, I found a tremendous amount of value is created by simply having a clear understanding of the financial situation at hand and the potential options for moving forward.
For more information on my background, take a look at my LinkedIn profile and this Wall Street Journal article discussing how I helped clients navigate the 2008 financial crisis. At the time, my clients avoided a messy situation and potential significant losses that caught many corporate and individual investors by surprise. And I did it by simply doing my homework, educating my clients, and refusing to bend my principles.
Regarding the jumble of letters after my name, I have achieved two of the most respected designations in financial planning and investments. The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) designation requires education, experience, and examination testing as well as a commitment to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential represents a demonstrated expertise in all relevant areas of public investments and requires over 18 months of testing and four years of direct, confirmed experience.
I enjoy being a part of the local community and I feel privileged to have been the Chief Investment Officer of a Silicon Valley Bank. Originally from Texas, I have lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years. In my spare time, you can find me on the tennis courts or hiking the trails in the East Bay.
