Fee-Only financial planner located in Santa Monica, CA, serving clients locally and across the country

Adam Scott is a Santa Monica, CA fee-only financial advisor serving clients locally and across the country. WellAcre Global Wealth Management specializes in financial planning for professionals in the Entertainment and Film industry and business owners to help them organize, grow and protect their assets through life’s transitions. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Adam Scott is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

Adam Scott is a Santa Monica, CA fee-only financial planner, founder and CEO of WellAcre Global Wealth Management.

Growing up in England, Adam's father taught him his first golden rule of investing: "A diversified portfolio must have at least eight stocks". Four years later, his father invested the families' entire life savings in one "sure thing".

And sure enough, it went bankrupt. The family lost everything.

Since then, Adam has looked back with appreciation for the investing lessons his father gave him, and maybe that one most of all: even the smartest people can make catastrophic mistakes handling their finances.

As a result of this experience, Adam developed a fascination for classic investment bubbles: The Tulip Mania of 17th Holland, and The South Sea Bubble in 18th England, both of which ensnared and devastated their respective nations for generations. These lessons remain starkly relevant in the modern economy. Drawn to investment theory, risk management, and investing behavior, Adam studied Economics at Bristol University, the think-tank for Margaret Thatcher's Economic Policy, and the UK leader in the burgeoning field of Monetarist Economic Theory.

Upon graduating with honors, he worked successfully as a Commodities Sugar and Coffee Trader at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in London. However, upon moving to Los Angeles he switched careers to the Entertainment Industry. In Entertainment, he found there was a great need for informed financial planning and advice. He developed a passion for financial planning: helping others, including successful Entertainment Professionals and Creative’s, manage their financial lives.

Adam became a partner at the LPL affiliated RIA, Westside Investment Management for the next decade. He gained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, professional  certification as well as the Series 7 and 66 investment licenses.

However, wanting to give clients the rare commodity of conflict-free comprehensive advice, without sales of products, and putting clients' interest first,  Adam and some team members formed their own fee only Registered Investment Advisor firm,  Wellacre Wealth Management, LLC on the TD Ameritrade and Schwab platforms.

After a lifelong experience of studying market cycles, Adam developed a systematic investment and planning process, that is just as relevant today in preserving wealth as it was in 17th Century Holland.

  • To be the champion of financial services delivered in the public interest.
  • To be the standard bearer for the emerging profession of financial planning.

WellAcre Global Wealth Management designed to help families and business owners in creative industries build their wealth sustainably in an increasingly complex world.

The name WellAcre pays homage to a distant ancestor who built a house outside Manchester under that name in the 1860's. Today, all that is left are the gate posts. However, despite two world wars, the great depression, 95% tax rates and gross mishandling by future generations, a small bequest came down to me as an impoverished young man, which became the seed corn that changed my life. My calling is to help other families manage their wealth the right way.
