- To be the standard bearer for the emerging profession of financial planning.
Since 2002, we have provided professional investment management solutions to a select group of individuals, families, business owners, and foundations. Meet with us and you’ll see why investors choose Hixon Zuercher.
The Beginning
Adam Zuercher and Tony Hixon founded the firm in 2002. The founders launched the firm with a vision of bringing wealth creation and investment management solutions that would enable our clients to achieve financial freedom. Thus, our original name, Freedom Financial Solutions, was born.
The First 10 Years
The first decade was rewarding and challenging. We started Freedom Financial Solutions in 2002, as the markets were still coming off the hangover from the tech bubble and we were still feeling the effects of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The mission of our firm was to help our clients achieve their financial goals by successfully managing their investments. That mission remains the same today. We began day 1 with zero clients, zero assets under management, a phone, a computer, an internet connection, and a dream. Today we steward over $240+ million in client assets and have helped (and are currently helping) numerous clients achieve retirement, college and other investment goals.
Our Name Change
A part of the growing pains of an entrepreneurial business is celebrating successes as well as learning from missteps. We named our firm Freedom Financial Solutions because we wanted to be a one-stop shop to service our clients’ financial needs. In addition to investment management, we sold insurance and prepared tax returns, but found those services were better provided by other firms. We received hundreds of calls over the years asking if we managed debt consolidation or mortgage refinancing, which are services we had never provided.
We realized that the name Freedom Financial Solutions no longer reflected our mission as a firm. It became clear that our core passion and competency was investing, and it was time for a change to portray that focus.
In January 2012, our firm became Hixon Zuercher Capital Management. Our new name communicates the focus of our business and highlights the names you have become familiar with as your investment managers over the years. This change in name in no way affects the level of service or investment expertise that our clients have become accustomed to.
The Future
We expect the next 10 years to be even more exciting than the first 10 years. We know the future is more exciting than the past. The world is a much better place than it was in 2002 as technology alone has made a better place to live, work, and play.
Economically, there will always be challenges and levels of uncertainty; however, there are also extreme levels of opportunity.
Going forward, we will continue to commit every day to finding those investment opportunities and helping our clients achieve their goals and dreams.
