Alan Goodstein is a native of Los Angeles.  His family operated a chain of retail stores throughout the area, enabling him to learn the value of good service, fair dealing, and financial responsibility at an early age.  After majoring in business and accounting at USC and Pepperdine, he spent 15 years in the family business as Vice President of Operations, responsible for the supervision of ten store managers and the strategic financial management of the business, including all aspects of the company's expansion.

In 1993 Alan's parents sold all of the stores in order to retire, at which point Alan began his second career, as a financial planner.  He joined Dean Witter, rapidly completed in-house training programs in Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, and Portfolio Management, and became “Rookie of the Year” in his branch his first year.   Witter merged with Morgan Stanley in 1995,in 1997 Alan moved to Home Savings of America, where he developed and serviced a clientele spanning several local branches.  He completed his qualifications for Certified Financial Planner in 2001, and then opened his own independent firm, Goodstein Wealth Management LLC, focused on helping business owners and affluent families in general.  He currently shares a large suite in Encino with a number of attorneys.

Alan is a member of the Los Angeles Financial Planning Association and The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).  He is a board memeber of New Horizons center for the developmentally disabled. Hello!  I'm Alan Goodstein President of Goodstein Wealth Management, Registered Investment Advisors.  We serve people who prefer a highly personalized, educational, and caring relationship with their financial advisors.  The following mission statement sums up the approach on which I've built my firm:

The true value of good financial planning is not in the numbers, but in the life that the numbers make possible.  We are dedicated to using our financial expertise to help our clients build and maintain the lives that they desire.

While we have no set minimum for new clients, we belive everyone should be able to get quality financial advice.  We provide Hourly consultation, Financial Planning, Investment Analysis, and Investment Management.

We work best with talented, independent, busy people who fully understand the wisdom of acquiring the assistance of an expert professional.  They appreciate our caring, personalized, and educational approach, and feel relieved to not have to deal with the phony glitz and salesmanship so prevalent in the financial services industry today.

We aim to be the advisor that will be your only advisor, who you can call on when you are going through your financial life.  Our goal is to teach you and guide you, to where you want your financial life to ultimately look like.
