Andrew Marshall is a Carlsbad, CA fee-only financial planner. We work with people who need financial and/or investment advice but don't want or need to move their investment accounts.
Andrew Marshall is the Principal at Andrew Marshall Financial located in Carlsbad, CA.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with a Master’s degree in molecular genetics from the University of Kansas.
I am registered with the State of California’s Department of Financial Protection and Innovation as a Registered Investment Advisor.
I am a proud member of the Garrett Planning Network. The Garrett Planning Network is a national organization of fee-only financial planners, based in the Midwest, who give objective advice. I am also a member of the San Diego Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and the Fee Only Network.
After graduate school, I packed my car and drove out to San Diego to find work in biotech. I worked at two small companies as a laboratory scientist developing new technologies and later manufacturing. The difficulties of affording life in San Diego on a middle-class salary, let alone also saving for retirement, lead me to begin learning about personal finance and investing. I took classes at UC Irvine and completed their Personal Financial Planning certificate program.
In 2015, I started my own fee-only firm which allows me to give the uncompromised advice that is best for my clients. I continue to study financial planning’s best practices and apply them to client situations. I have completed the Financial Planning Association’s Residency Program.
When I am not working, I like playing golf, watching English Premier League soccer, or hiking.
Andrew Marshall Financial, LLC (AMF) offers objective investment and financial planning advice on an as-needed basis. AMF reviews investments and makes recommendations, but does not manage investments.
AMF has no affiliation with investment, annuity or insurance companies thereby providing advice that is not tainted by sales quotas or corporate pressures.
Andrew Marshall Financial, LLC is a fiduciary. That means AMF always puts your interest first. AMF is here to help you maximize your use of money, reduce your stress, and reach your goals. By putting our clients first, both our clients and AMF are successful.
AMF uses the fee-only style of financial advice. With fee only advice, you pay for services in an open, fully disclosed manner. AMF does not sell any products such as insurance policies, annuities, mutual funds or REITs. AMF therefore does not get any commissions or kickbacks from any source for any recommendation AMF makes. By doing business this way, conflicts of interest are removed that exist with other advisors who get paid commissions to recommend and sell products.
AMF charges on an hourly fee basis. This makes AMF accessible to all who need professional financial planning help, regardless of income and account size. There are no income or net worth minimums required to work with AMF. Paying for advice as-needed may offer a large savings compared to paying assets under management fees.
AMF functions as a consultant. AMF analyzes your situation from an objective point of view and provides recommendations to solve your particular issues. Your financial situation is different and deserves individual attention. AMF works collaboratively with you to create a financial plan that maximizes your future.
