Why I Entered the Industry

I have always been interested in investments, financial planning, and tax planning. Until late 1990's the only way to provide financial planning advice was to sell products and provide limited planning or advice.

Imagine my excitement when, in 2002, I discovered that I could be the type of financial advisor I envisioned: one who could provide unbiased advice to clients and long-term guidance. Within a year of learning about the fee-only financial planning practice model, I set out to add the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification to my CPA credentials and started my own fee-only financial planning practice.

In 2003, I founded my firm to provide fee-only financial planning and investment management. As both a CPA and financial planner, I am in the unique position where I can help clients save money in taxes while also simplifying their financial life and helping them feel confident knowing someone is watching out for them

What Sets Me Apart From Other Advisors?

Because I am a CFP and a CPA I bring financial planning and tax planning advice together. As a fee-only financial advisor, my clients receive the advice of a fiduciary acting in their best interests without the conflicts of interests other advisors have.

What Is the Most Important Thing I Provide for My Clients?

I strive to serve as a trusted financial partner with whom my clients feel at ease talking about their financial concerns and dreams. Along with instilling a sense of confidence, my goal is to provide them a comprehensive and personalized strategy that incorporates their objectives and outlines how they can transition from where they are today to where they want to be in the future.

What Motivates Me?

Despite the difficulties, I am driven in my career by the desire to offer the greatest benefit to a client’s situation as the tax, investing, and financial landscape changes. Each year, I complete more than 60 hours of continuing education to stay abreast of financial planning and investment strategies to ensure I am up-to-date and can offer my clients knowledgeable advice. I am excited to be able to bring this information I gather back to my clients to help with their financial strategies.

At the end of the day, there’s nothing more fulfilling than helping clients put the financial pieces together and offer them greater peace of mind. It’s a wonderful moment in our relationship when a client tells me they are more confident about their financial future and feel like they can sleep better at night.

Who I Work With

I work with a wide range of clients, including busy professionals, women, pre-retirees, and retirees. Regardless of their age or career, my clients share a commonality: they seek the value of a fee-only advisor, and they understand the benefit they receive as a result.

My clients are hard-working professionals who are good at saving and spending. They understand the importance of balancing the requirements of the future retirement and living today. They are willing and interested in working with an advisor to help them manage and coordinate the financial pieces of their lives.

Busy Professionals

The demands of work and family life make it difficult to stay on top of investing and financial planning. Your compensation includes company stock and you want to make the most of it.  You want to work with an advisor that can help you prevent something from falling through the cracks.

Focus areas:

  • navigate the priorities of saving for your retirement and helping kids
  • understanding and optimizing your equity compensation; stock options, restricted stock, etc.
  • maximizing benefits offered through employer
  • developing a financial roadmap to ensure you stay on track
  • ensuring you have the “bases covered” for unexpected events

Retired (or close to it)

You are close to retirement or have recently retired. The rules of saving seemed “easier” than the rules of distribution. There is more at stake now than 15 years ago and you want to avoid a costly mistake.

Focus areas:

  • making the best choices for pensions and social security
  • helping “crack the nest egg” in a smart and tax-efficient manner
  • navigating the transition from employer paycheck to portfolio paycheck
  • guiding you to spend enough to enjoy retirement life but not too much so it lasts
  • saving on taxes and fees so you keep more of your money

Women and Money

You’re in charge of your finances now.  Whether through divorce or death you are now managing your finances. You want to work with someone you trust.  Someone that can meet you where you are at and help you move forward.

Focus areas:

  • developing a plan that provides for you and protects your financial future
  • helping you understand the investing and financial world in plain English
  • listening to your goals and concerns and making a plan to address them
