    David Martula is a Hadley, MA fee-only financial planner. Fee-Only Financial Planning provides comprehensive and objective financial planning to help clients organize, grow and protect their assets through life’s transitions. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, David Martula is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

    David T. Martula, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, is the principal and founder of Fee-Only Financial Planning, located in Hadley, Massachusetts.

    Born and raised in Hadley, David attended local schools, graduating from Amherst College with a BA French. He then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Emory University. After earning his MAT, he taught for six years at the Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He then pursued studies in business and finance, earning a Masters in Business Administration degree again from Emory University.

    After completing his MBA, David returned home and worked for his family's insurance agency. Two years later he bought the business, which he ran as owner and president for eleven years. During that time, he was a member of the Board of Directors on the Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts, as well as President and Treasurer of the Hampshire County Insurance Board. In 1988, David sold the agency to focus solely on financial planning.

    David is currently treasurer and board member of the Sugarloaf Mountain Athletic Club; co-chair of the Steering Committee for the Town of Hadley 350th Anniversary Celebration; co-chair of the Hadley 350th anniversiary History Day committee; Board Member-Emeritus of the University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center; member of the Finance Committee of the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School; and current President of the Amherst College class of 1966.

    Fee-Only Financial Planning is focused on helping individuals with all aspects of their financial lives. Both personalized financial advice and investment management services are offered.

    Financial planning is the process of reviewing your financial situation, taking into consideration your specific goals and objectives, and then providing a roadmap to help you realize those goals and objectives. Investment management services include not only comprehensive financial planning but also ongoing oversight of your investment accounts, selection of investments and adjustments when appropriate.

    Personal financial planning work is offered on an ad-hoc, hourly basis. Investment management clients are charged a fee based upon assets under management.
