I truly believe in the power of having a fee-only, fiduciary financial planner in your corner. When you have an advisor on your side, you’re able to prioritize financial goals and make decisions with confidence.

I earned my B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University in Waltham, MA, and began my career as an accountant. I earned the CPA designation, and worked in corporate finance for the majority of my career.

However, I’ve always had an interest in the personal side of finance. In doing research on my own financial questions, I came across the world of fee-only financial planning.

Over the years, my interest in comprehensive financial planning grew. Helping others navigate their financial dilemmas was something I was passionate about. I wanted to be able to help clients align their finances with their values, reduce decision-making stress, and prioritize their goals.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family – my wife, Maggie, and my kids, Henry and Hannah. We love doing anything outdoors together, including hiking and kayaking. I’m a fan of live music and enjoy finding new local spots to visit with my wife when we can.

Joe Calvetti is a Member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is a leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors - highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve.

NAPFA members live by three important values:

  • To be the beacon for independent, objective financial advice for individuals and families.
  • To be the champion of financial services delivered in the public interest.
  • To be the standard bearer for the emerging profession of financial planning.

Still River Financial Planning offers both one time and ongoing financial planning to help young families and professionals eliminate financial stress from their lives. When I first founded my financial planning firm, I knew I wanted to work exclusively for my clients. In other words, I don’t accept commission from the sale of financial products. The fees paid by clients are the only compensation Still River Financial Planning receives.

This allows me to always act in your best interest, and to always put your unique goals and needs first when delivering financial advice.

My clients are in their 30s-40s, and have hit a wall when it comes to managing their finances. They have busy personal schedules, growing careers, and have recently introduced financial complexity that’s too much to manage.

This might mean they’ve recently gotten a new job with stock options, that they’re navigating an inheritance, or that they’re facing any number of other financial milestones. While “leveling up” your financial life is exciting – it’s also stressful!

It’s tough to know whether or not you’re making the right decisions, and how you can start to work toward and prioritize some of your bigger goals like buying a home, becoming debt-free, or saving for college and retirement.

Questions my clients have include:

  • How do I prioritize multiple financial goals?
  • Will I be able to retire on time, and live comfortably once I get there?
  • Should I be saving for my children’s education?
  • Am I missing any tax planning opportunities?
  • How can I work toward becoming debt-free?
  • How should I handle my equity compensation?
  • Do I have enough insurance to protect my loved ones?
