Meet Martin Hopkins
With 30 years of experience in the field of personal finance, including 17 years at the financial law firm he founded in his native South Africa, Hopkins Investment Management LLC President Martin Hopkins believes in the power of goals. He’s worked hard to achieve them for himself, and his ability to succeed has been tied to his clients’ successes.
A Certified Financial Planner® as well as an attorney, Martin earned his LLB and a bachelor of commerce degree from the prestigious University of Natal in Pietermartizburg, South Africa. He and his wife, Lyn and their sons, came to the U.S. in 1996. In 2006, Martin and Lyn planted their roots even deeper when they became U.S. citizens.
Martin has supported clients as they navigate various seasons in their lives. He has many clients who have experienced a transition such as retirement, loss of a spouse through death or divorce or dealing with unexpected income.
He has enjoyed boating, exploring the inland waters of the East Coast, and is also actively involved with Church of the Nations.
Martin is a well-known and respected member of the investment community and has served on the board of the Northeast Division of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
