Lead Advisor

Growing up with little money, we often had to rely on the kindness of others for basic necessities like food and housing. I experienced, first-hand, the fear, guilt, and anxiety that results from not having control over your financial situation, and it fueled my passion for empowering other women to take control of their finances. I find it incredibly rewarding to help our clients achieve their goals, and live a life without fear around money. - Natalie Colley, CFP®, CDFA®

Fee-Only Certified Financial Planner located in New York, NY and serving clients with over $2 million in the tri-state area and across the country. Specializing in working with women going through a life-change such as divorce, widowhood, or sudden wealth.

Natalie Colley is a New York, NY fee-only financial planner.  Francis Financial, Inc. provides comprehensive  financial planning, wealth management, and divorce planning to help clients navigating a life transition organize, grow and protect their assets.  As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Natalie Colley is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

Natalie Colley, a Lead Advisor with the firm, works directly with clients to help them reach their financial goals. Specifically, she partners with clients on topics ranging from retirement planning, education funding, charitable giving, insurance preparedness and portfolio management. Natalie’s passion for personal finance began at a young age, and she opened her first Roth IRA at age 19 (and convinced her college roommate to do the same).

Professionally: Natalie received a Bachelor’s of Science in chemical engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). On the West Coast, she worked as an engineering consultant on large capital projects at pharmaceutical companies such as Genentech/Roche, Bayer, Novartis, and BioMarin, to name a few. Natalie moved to New York City in 2013 to work as an engineer at Perrigo, the world’s largest manufacturer of store-brand pharmaceutical products. After 7 years as an engineer, she realized that her passion for finance overshadowed her engineering career path and decided to make the switch. Natalie passed the Certified Financial Planner exam in July 2017, obtained the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation in June 2019, and is continually working to deepen her knowledge in the profession.

Personally:

Natalie is kind, sharp and full of positivity. Her favorite activity outside of work is running with friends, which she does every Saturday. Her athletic pursuits led her to place 2nd in her age group in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in 2011.

Natalie and her husband love to travel and enjoy visiting wine regions in France to discover the best French wines. If she could be anywhere else in the world, Natalie would travel to Florence Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains where her family has taken yearly trips since she was only 9 months old.

Francis Financial was formed in 2002 with the purpose of doing things differently in the wealth management industry and to provide clients with independent advice, transparency and individual attention.

We are an independent, fee-only boutique wealth management, and divorce financial planning firm dedicated to providing ongoing comprehensive advice for women going through transitions, such as divorce, widowhood and sudden wealth. We have a fiduciary responsibility to act in our clients' best interest. We do not have ties to commissions or compensation from outside sources, so clients know that they can trust our advice.

Our team specializes in divorce financial planning and plays a vital role in making sure that our clients sustain financial peace of mind during and after their divorce. As Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (CDFA®), we work hand in hand with our clients and their team of divorce professionals to understand how the financial decisions they make during their divorce will impact their future.

When working with clients in transition, we model the outcome of their divorce settlement and offer a clear and independent image of what their financial future may look like if they choose one settlement option over another. Our team is trained and knowledgeable about individual states' divorce laws and helps our clients answer questions regarding budgeting, alimony, tax planning, home sales, asset distribution, insurance and other factors that are crucial in determining their ideal settlement and attaining long-term financial security.
