As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Patricia Parker is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.
Patricia Heaton Parker has been an active member of the Financial Planning Industry for over 20 years. Her firm, Discovery Financial, is an Independant, Fee Only firm specializing in the needs of clients going through transition. Whether its retirement, marriage, divorce or being widowed, change is difficult. Finding someone to trust, someone who will help you make smart financial decisions is challenging. Ms. Parker has helped hundreds of clients over the years find peace in these turbulent times. Services include Financial Plans (initial and ongoing) and Investment Management services. The initial consultation, either by phone or in person, is free of charge and obligation. It is a time to see whether or not the client and advisor are a good fit. Any additional financial planning services are available by either an hourly fee or a quoted flat fee. Any investment management services are available as an annual percentage of Assets Under Management (AUM). This fee is based on account size, and will be quoted upon retainer. We believe in helping the communities we serve, and therefore we do not require a minimum account size to work with us.
As a former Registered Nurse, Ms. Parker has been highly beneficial to her clients as they deal with end of life issues of their own, or with their parents. In addition, several clients have been referred to her as they have recently lost loved ones because of her sensitivity, insight and experience.
Ms. Parker is a active member of the OC Financial Planning Association where she has served on the Board of Directors. She is also an active member of NAWBO-OC (National Association of Women Business Owners) and AiP (Advisors in Philanthropy). Ms. Parker teaches Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits in the CFP program at University of California, Irvine.
