Our flat-fee structure ties our compensation to services provided, not the number of digits left of the decimal. - Rebecca Kennedy, CFP®
Fee-Only financial planner located in Denver, CO, serving clients locally and across the country

Rebecca Kennedy is a Denver, CO fee-only financial planner. IMPACTfolio® provides comprehensive financial planning and portfolio management with a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing to help our clients grow and protect their assets through life’s transitions. As a fee-only fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Rebecca Kennedy is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.
IMPACTfolio® charges a flat annual retainer fee. We feel strongly that this structure is the most equitable to investors and helps to reduce the conflicts of the asset-gathering model.
It was serendipity that led Rebecca Kennedy into the financial services industry right after college in 1999, and finding true fulfillment in helping people that kept her there. Financial planning is both an art and a science that marries two of her favorite disciplines, psychology and math. She enjoys utilizing aspects of these two disciplines every day to help clients work toward achieving their financial goals.
Rebecca is the “E” in the ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance) investing principles. Growing up in Tennessee, a significant portion of her childhood and adolescence was spent hiking in the mountains with her family. She gained an appreciation for the natural world at a young age while observing the indigenous flora and fauna. As an Environmental Science major at Ohio State University, she furthered her formal knowledge about the importance of conserving our natural resources and preserving the balance of our earth’s biodiversity.
She has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 2002, and has served in a variety of capacities within the industry over the years. In the five years prior to joining IMPACTfolio®, she was the Principal of Kennedy Financial Planning, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor in Denver, Colorado.
Rebecca has served as the Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee and Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Colorado Financial Planning Association. She is also a member of NAPFA (The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors) and the Fee-Only Network. She is a previous member of the Garrett Planning Network.
Currently, Rebecca and her husband, Jim, enjoy delivering meals for Project Angel Heart. In addition, she has volunteered as a mentor for Denver Kids and a reading buddy for Mount Saint Vincent Home.
They spend much time doting on their two rescue dogs, Hoover and Winston, but try to break away occasionally to travel. Their goal is to safely and conscientiously encounter as much wildlife as possible in its natural habitat.

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is a leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors - highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve.

- To be the standard bearer for the emerging profession of financial planning.
Triple Bottom Line Investing
All companies have not only a financial return, but also a social and environmental return. Whether intentional or not, businesses make an impact on their customers, employees, the community, and the environment. Some companies create value while others extract value. The only question is whether we – as investors – are going to take these non-financial returns into consideration.
At IMPACTfolio®, our process involves what we call “triple bottom line” investing by seeking an environmental return, a social return, and a financial return. These three sources of return are what we refer to as our 3 P’s: Planet, People, and Profit.
The Questions We Ask
A financial plan is only as good as the questions being asked when creating it. At IMPACTfolio®, we use what we call our 3 D’s. It involves the following three types of questions: data gathering, diagnosis, and discovery. Each of these serve a unique and distinct purpose.
Data gathering questions ensure that we have the proper information to do analysis and make recommendations. Diagnostic questions bring intentionality to planning by ensuring that clients are aware of the consequences of various aspects of their financial situation and decisions they have made thus far. Discovery questions infuse a plan with meaning by facilitating conversations about what's most important to the client and then anchoring the plan according to those values.
This 3D approach to client inquiry is what really brings a financial plan to life.
