Wayne Titus III is a Plymouth, MI fee-only financial planner. AMDG Financial provides comprehensive and objective financial planning to help clients organize, grow and protect their assets through life’s transitions. As a fee-only, fiduciary, and independent financial advisor, Wayne Titus III is never paid a commission of any kind, and has a legal obligation to provide unbiased and trustworthy financial advice.

My work life began around the age of 8, in small, family-owned, entrepreneurial business environment. My family with my wife Lisa began in my early twenties. The security of public accounting drew me to working primarily with large Fortune 50 clients. I tried pursuing a "balanced" life: spending time with my family, volunteering, working, praying. As our children grew, my career and financial success grew too. Increasingly, the ability to maintain "balance" eluded me. I became a slave to income, working hard to earn and neglecting what was most important. The time I could spend on what I valued most - family and community - became intolerably insufficient. I tried to step back and revive my basic values, but I could not do this alone.

It was difficult starting my CPA and Family Wealth Advisory firms in early 2002. Lisa went back to teaching, allowing me to focus on getting my practices up and running, spending time with the family and serving my community. I joined a local Rotary Club; founded and organized The Eclipse Base Ball Club of Northville, a historically based 1860's rules club; served my church on various committees and began my civic work in El Salvador. I was able to involve my eldest son in 1860's Base Ball during the time I played. I lead Scouts, and chaperoned a 90 mile hike in the Rocky Mountains with a crew of scouts, including my youngest son. Three years as Treasurer of the Plymouth Canton Music Boosters, Lisa and I chaperoned many marching band activities and remained closely involved in activities with my family.

Working with my church, we support a health clinic in El Salvador so that others may remain healthy for their families. Through Rotary I work to eradicate polio, develop grants, fundraise and implement clean water projects around the world. Forever a global citizen in the world community, I walk in solidarity with poor and marginalized communities. Lisa also volunteers, and our children learn from our examples.

My reward: living my values and helping my clients to live their values.

Wayne Titus III is a Member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) is the country’s leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors - highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve.

NAPFA members live by three important values:

  • To be the beacon for independent, objective financial advice for individuals and families.
  • To be the champion of financial services delivered in the public interest.
  • To be the standard bearer for the emerging profession of financial planning
We relate best to people with whom we share the strongest values.

A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care at either equity or law. A fiduciary is expected to be extremely loyal to the person to whom he owes the duty: he must not put his personal interests before the duty, and must not profit from his position as a fiduciary, unless the principal consents.

My clients tend to be

  • Family Stewards - Individuals whose dominant focus is to take care of their family. They tend to be both personally and professionally conservative and typically have limited knowledge about investing.
  • Financial Phobics - Individuals often frustrated and confused by the responsibility of wealth, dislike investing and avoid technical discussions of it. They choose their advisors based on personal trust.
  • Independents - seeking the personal freedom that wealth makes possible. They know wealth is a means to an end, but are uninterested in the process of investing itself.
